I’m an editor and journalist, deeply passionate about transforming words into compelling stories. Writing is not only my profession but also my hobby, though my book remains a work in progress, still taking shape.
In writing, words are usually black on a white background, but in some contexts, the colors can shift, or even become bold and vibrant—reflecting how we perceive reality and set the scene. A writer’s task is to bring those perceptions to life.
With over 30 years in journalism, I’ve had the privilege of shaping the press environment in leadership roles. I’ve interviewed presidents, ministers, and even colorful figures from all walks of life. For me, the core mission of journalism remains simple: to reveal the truth and share it with the world.

I have led the BNS reporter corps, supervised 55 employees at the newspaper Rīgas Balss, and 53 employees at Vakara Avīze Vakara Ziņas.
As the chief editor, I developed the newspaper’s development strategies, budget guidelines, employee compensation systems, and work task policies.
I also led the Public Relations Department of the Jūrmala City Council, shaping the city’s image.
